The competition was held in Rimini, from 23 to 25 January 2016, to determine the Italian Roasting Champion.
After a 3 days competition, Mario Miconi, Caffè Italia’s Roaster, ranked third.
The competition is composed by different sections in which the roasters are tested on multiple skills from grain selection of green coffee to prediction of roasting behaviour. But ultimately the roasters are judged on their ability to enable the single origins to best express their characteristics. .
This year the Italian Roasters here judged by an International committee of SCAE experts.
